Ajoke Akinsola is an Associate Partner at the prestigious Law Firm Pinheiro LP, located in Lagos State, Nigeria with branches in Abuja and Port Harcourt. She is the Head of the Corporate Commercial Practice arm of the Firm. She obtained her first degree from Ogun State University and holds a further certification of an MSc in Governance and Development Management form the University of Birmingham, UK.
She joined the Firm in May 2019. Prior to her role, she worked as a Legal Counsel (Corporate & Commercial) at Notore Chemical Industries PLC for four and a half years. Before joining Notore she worked as a Senior Associate in the law firm of George Etomi and Partners; bringing with her extensive experience on commercial transactions.
With over 15 years vast experience in her field, she is particularly seasoned at negotiating, drafting and finalising commercial contracts, provides regulatory and compliance advisory to individuals, start-ups, organisations as well as companies. Ajoke has advised clients on Project Finance transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions, Public-Private Partnerships, Corporate Restructuring and Corporate Governance.
She led a team of Lawyers in advising a client on its multi-million-dollar acquisition of an electricity distribution company from the Bureau of Public Enterprise. She also previously led a team of lawyers in handling all aspects of a bank merger.
She is a member of several associations such as the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the International Bar Association (IBA), Exco member NBA -SBL Sports, Entertainment and Media Committee, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) Nigeria, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), Society for Corporate Governance, African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) and a Member of the Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce.
